Over Summer 2008, I spent nearly 600 hours working as an intern at Fort Necessity National Battlefield. Primarily, I served as a Living History soldier who would deliver programs about the the battle and soldier life. I was responsible in giving my talks to remove certain misconceptions from people's minds about the battle such as George Washington being an idiot in selecting his fort site. What I would do was pint out certain elements about the story and the fort site that wern't mentioned often in books or movies that would make Washington's logic seem more understandable.
I was also involved in certain other projects such as being part of a cannon crew that manned a half pound swivel gun. Additionally, I assisted with tasks such as manning the front desk and completing a curatorial inventory.
